Surface Design & Embroidery

Surface detail can completely transform a costume, adding texture, character and a more bespoke finish. We offer a wide range of techniques including digitally cut vinyl, heat transfer, digital embroidery, hand embroidery and fabric manipulation, whether as part of a full build or as a standalone service.

Vinyl offers huge creative flexibility, from matte, gloss and foiled finishes to holographic, flocked and other specialist effects, all cut to custom patterns or graphics and applied to fabric. We also produce embroidered details directly onto costumes, as patches and appliqués, or as standalone embroidered elements and fabrics for use elsewhere in a production.

We are happy to create these details for projects being made in-house or to supply them to other makers. We can work across a broad range of materials including cottons, wools, lycra, plastics, PVC and leather, helping clients find the right finish for the look they want.
